Join sassy classical flutist Cari Shipp (www.carishipp.com) and international pianist Jeremy Thompson (www.jeremythompsonmusic.com) for an evening of classical music but with a twist…
As the music you may or may not consider staunchy/dated/boring/inaccessible/etc plays, there will be POP UP FACTS about the pieces, the artists, the composers, etc on a screen. Multitasking, just like we all do all the time!
Inspired by the popular 90's Vh1 show "Pop-Up Video," Pop-Up Classical will bring audience and music closer together - whether you are a long time lover of classical music or if you don't know Bach from Beethoven.
This is the fourth concert in the benefit concert series started by Cari known as SONOSYNTHESIS. Sonosynthesis, meaning "the fusion of sound," incorporates different musical styles and artists and brings them together with local organizations. Proceeds of this concert will benefit IMPACT C'ville, a group currently working towards affordable housing (a huge problem in our community). For more information about Impact, visit www.impactcville.com.
The cost of a ticket looks random because we made it so that your total is $12 after the website fees are imposed. Sorry/you're welcome.
Program of this concert includes:
CPE Bach (JS Bach's most successful son)
Georges Enesco (fancy French stuff)
Cecile Chaminade (fancy French stuff but COMPOSED BY A WOMAN)
Paul Hindemith (20th century but not overly weird)
Music about a Dancing Goat (no, really.)
The last concert we had to benefit IMPACT (held in November 2017) sold out, so be sure to reserve your ticket early! By purchasing a ticket your name will be on the list, no need to print anything.
